At Free Geek, we sustainably reuse technology, enable digital access, and provide digital literacy education to empower people on the wrong side of the digital divide to help them reach their full potential. We do this by conducting a multi-step process that includes diverting technology from landfills, refurbishing the devices, and giving them back to our community at little or no cost.

By recycling and then refurbishing computers, PCs for People provides a valuable service to businesses, families, and the planet by keeping computers out of landfills and repurposing them to advance digital inclusion.

Multnomah County Library has about 1000 public PCs at its 19 neighborhood locations as well as laptops to use within each library. Learn more about the library's computer services and policies. With a library card or current, valid photo ID, all patrons and visitors can use library computers for 4 hours per day. Computers can be used from opening until 10 minutes before closing. Community center with resource navigation; free computers for job/housing searches, resume and cover letter writing; weekly childrens programs; space for meeting with clients, case managers, colleagues, neighbors, etc. Job fairs, health fairs, cultural events, kids activities.
