WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE WHEN WE ALL TAP IN…
Portland's slogan is “The City that Works” but when you drive around or walk through our city center it doesn’t feel like a city that’s working. When we catch up on what’s happening within real estate, our local business community, success at our school districts, or follow up with the actions of our local government leadership, the reports clearly show this is a city that is not working.
local business pledge
Portland Biz journal article: We are looking for local businesses to join us in this work and to pledge monthly giving.
Hobbs Artist Fundraiser
Hobbs Waters, a local teen artist, is having an art blow out sale because he is looking to move the work so he can create more space for this new art series that he is working on. He has listed all of the on-hand art that he has and is discounting the gallery price 50-70% off. The pieces that are for sale are larger scale abstract pieces. He has two categories of art work, his fluid art and his mixed media abstract art. The topics that Hobbs art ranges from are urban renewal to Black happiness. These are great statement pieces that are perfect to put in the common area of your home or any space really. If there are any art pieces that you see that interest you, come to Hobbs' art sale at Helen Rose Skincare Co. located on 212 SE Alder St. The art sale is happening November 13th and 14th from noon to 5PM.

HEART & HUSTLE VIDEO
Story telling is a one of the fibers of community and is a critical part of the work we do. We were honored to work with Heart and Hustle last year to talk about our launch, our first year of work, and goals. Many things have changed and grown over the last year and we will hold sacred some of the first major story telling of our collective community work. Why community care is important..
Reflection is an ongoing part of our decolonization work.
We say this phrase “we take care of us” because we the community always end up taking care of us the community and we need to grow that mentality and practice everywhere. We can’t run a community, the government, a nonprofit organization, a mutual aid group like a business. We need to shift our priorities to change the true end results.
